Golden Empire Flying Association
October 16, 2008
President Allan Krosner called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm and the minutes of the September 18 meeting were approved.
Treasurer Karen Smith reported account balances as follows: GEFA $5203.87 and Airfest $6699.78.
A $200 deposit was made towards our reservation of Alta Sierra for Christmas.
Frank Minor introduced his son John as his guest. John just finished his M.D. in Pediatrics, and is interested in flying.
Allan asked for further nominations for officers, and elections are next month. Gary and Karen agreed to run again for Vice President and Treasurer respectively, and Doug and Maureen Young volunteered to run for President and Secretary.
Katie Guilliat announced that the Christmas party will be held on Wed, Dec 17. By a show of hands people chose to again have last year’s guitarist and to reserve the dance floor.
Gary Guilliat suggested a fly-out for lunch at Half Moon Bay on Sunday, Oct 19. He said the recent fly-out to McMinneville saw the best possible flying weather in Oregon, and the 3 couples that participated enjoyed the Spruce Goose display on Saturday. There is also an IMAX theater there. A stop on the coast Sunday morning for breakfast at Salishan, a resort near Gleneden, topped off the trip.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm.
